On October 4, 1945, actor Clifton Davis was born. Davis is a well known actor, songwriter, and minister. Davis starred in shows, such as That’s My Mama and Amen. For those who are unaware, Davis wrote “Never Can Say Goodbye,” for the Jackson 5.

Harry-Belafonte

On June 20, 1960, Harry Belafonte became the first African American to win an Emmy. He won the Emmy for his variety special “Tonight with Harry Belafonte”. Belafonte is an established singer, songwriter, actor, and social activist.
