Today in Black History: December 7, 1978 “Billy Sims Wins Heisman Trophy”

On today in 1978, Billy Sims was awarded the Heisman trophy. Sims played the running back position and played for the University of Oklahoma. He was also a two-time consensus All-American. Sims was drafted to the NFL as the first drack pick in 1980. He was drafted to the Detroit Lions and played professional football for five seasons.
