Today in Black History: April 22, 1997, “Mary J. Blige Releases Share My World”

On today in 1997, Mary J. Blige released her third studio album “Share My World”. This was her first album to open up at #1 on the US Billboard 200 chart. This was also her first top-ten album in the Uk. She opened up at #8. This was also Mary’s first time acting as an executive producer on an album. She worked with Rodney Jerkins, Babyface, Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, R. Kelly, Poke&Tone, Nas, Lil Kim, Rich Nice, Kelly Price, and many others.
