Today in Black History: March 25, 1942 “The Birth of Aretha Franklin”

On today in 1942, Aretha Franklin was born in Memphis, Tennessee. Franklin grew up singing gospel in Detroit, in her father’s church. She started her professional career when she was 18 years old. The queen of Soul has 18 Grammy’s and is the first female artist to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. She is one of the best female selling artist of all time.
