On today in 1999, The Staple Singers were inducted to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. In the 1970s, the gospel group was able to cross over into the mainstream pop world. They sung gospel, soul, and R&B. Some of their most notable songs are “Respect Yourself”, “I’ll Take You There”, “If You’re Ready (Come Go with Me)”, and “Let’s Do It Again”.
