Today in Black History: February 20, 1895 “The Death of Fredrick Douglass”

On today in 1895, Fredrick Douglass died of a massive heart attack or stroke. Earlier in that day, Douglass had attended a meeting of the National Council of Woman in Washington, D.C. His funeral was held at the Metropolitan African Methodist Episcopal Church.
