Today in Black History: February 10, 1939 “The Birth of Roberta Flack”

On today in 1939, Roberta Flack was born in Black Mountain, North Carolina. She is a singer, songwriter, and musician. Flack is notable for jazz, soul, and R&B music. In 1973, she won a Grammy for Record of the year for “The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face”. She won another Grammy for Record of the Year in 1974, for “Killing Me Softly with His Song”.
