Today in Black History: February 4, 2014 “Prince Performs Super Bowl XLI Halftime Show”

On today in 2007, Prince performed Super Bowl XLI halftime show in Miami, Florida. He performed three songs from the Purple Rain album, “Let’s Go Crazy,” “Baby I’m a Star,” and “Purple Rain.” He also covered Queen’s “We Will Rock You,” Bob Dylan’s “All Along the Watchtower,” the Foo Fighters “Best of You,” and Creedence Clearwater Revival “Proud Mary.” In 2010 Billboard named Prince’s halftime performance the greatest Super Bowl performance ever.
