Today in Black History: January 31, 1988 “Doug Williams Became the First African American Quarterback to Play and Win a Super Bowl”

On today in 1988, Doug Williams became the first African American quarterback to play and win in a Super Bowl. Williams played for the Washington Redskins. The Redskins defeated the Denver Broncos 42-10 in Super Bowl XXII.
