On today in 2000, Halle Berry won a Golden Globe Award for the role of Dorothy Dandridge. Dorothy Dandridge was the first African American actress to be nominated for an Academy Award for best actress. Berry won the Golden Globe Award for best actress in a miniseries or motion picture made for television.
