Today in Black History: January 14, 1968 “The Birth of LL Cool J”

On today in 1968, LL Cool J was born James Todd Smith in Bay Shore, New York. He is a rapper, entrepreneur, author, TV host and actor. LL Cool J was one of the first artists signed to Def Jam Records. He has released 13 studio albums with hits; such as Mama Said Knock You Out, Bigger and Deffer, Hey Lover, and I Need Love. LL Cool J has transitioned his career into acting with blockbuster movies under his belt, such as Halloween H20, and Any Given Sunday. He is now one of the stars of NCIS: Los Angeles.
