Today in Black History: January 11, 1971 “The Birth of Mary J Blige”

On today in 1971, Mary J. Blige was born in The Bronx, New York. She is a singer, songwriter, actress, and philanthropies. Blige started her career in 1989 as a background singer on Uptown Records. She released her first album, What’s The 411?, in 1992 and has released 10 albums. Mary has nine Grammy’s and has been deemed the Queen of Hip-Hop Soul.
