Today in Black History: January 4, 1969 “The Congressional Black Caucus was Founded”

On today in 1969, The Congressional Black Caucus was founded. The organization represents the black members of the United States Congress. The original name of the organization was “Democratic Select Committee. Some of the members included Shirley Chisholm of New York, Louis Stokes of Ohio, and William L. Clay of Missouri.
