Today in Black History: December 28, 1954 “The Birth of Denzel Washington”

On today in 1954, Denzel Washington was born in Mount Vernon, New York. He is an actor, film director, and film producer. Washington has been critically acclaimed for the roles he portrayed as Steve Biko, Malcome X, Rubin “Hurricane” Carter, Melvin B. Tolson, Frank Lucas, and Herman Boone. He has won two Golden Globe awards and a Tony Award. Washington has also won two Academy Awards: Best Supporting Actor for Glory and Best Actor for Training Day.
