Today in Black History: December 23, 1867 “The Birth of Madam C. J. Walker”

On today in 1867, Madam C. J. Walker was born Sarah Breedlove in Delta, Louisiana. She was an entrepreneur, philanthropist, and the first female self-made millionaire. Walker made her empire by creating and marketing beauty and hair products for African American woman. Her company name was Madam C. J. Walker Manufacturing Company.
