Today in Black History: November 28, 1929 “The Birth of Berry Gordy”

On today in 1929, Berry Gordy was born in Detroit Michigan. He is the founder of Motown records. He started out as a songwriter. Gordy made musical history by signing artist such as the Temptations, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, the Jackson 5, Smokey Robinson, the Supremes, and Gladys Knight and the Pips. He also ventured into film with movies such as Lady Sings the Blues, Mahogany, The Bingo Long Traveling All Stars, and The Wiz.
