Today in Black History: November 27, 1928 “Marjorie Joyner Patented the Permanent Wave Machine”

On today in 1928, Marjorie Joyner patented the permanent wave machine. The machine could wave white and black people hair. Joyner worked under Madam C. J. Walker. She did not receive profit from her invention because Madam C. J. Walker owned the rights. Patent #1,693,515
