Today in Black History: November 26, 1939 “The Birth of Tina Turner”

On today in 1939, Tina Turner was born Anna Mae Bullock in Nutbush, Tennessee. She is a singer, dancer, and author. Tina Turner began her career as half of the due “Ike & Tina.” Tina Turner was deemed the Queen of Rock “n” Roll. She has won eight Grammy Awards and has been inducted in to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Rolling Stone has listed her as number 17 on their list of “The 100 Greatest Singers of All Time.” Three of her songs are inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame, “River Deep-Mountain High,” “Proud Mary,” and “What’s Love Got to Do with It.”
