Today in Black History: November 18, 1994 “The Death of Cab Calloway”

On today in 1994, Cab Calloway died. He was born in Rochester, New York, on Christmas Day in 1907. His family moved to Baltimore, Maryland, and that’s where he grew up. Calloway was a jazz singer, actor, dancer, bandleader, and a master of energetic scat singing. He was also a regular performer at the Cotton Club in Harlem, New York.
