Today in Black History: October 16, 1995 “The Million Man March”

On today in 1995, The Million Man March was organized by the Nation of Islam and the National African American Leadership Summit. The march was held at the National Mall in Washington, D.C.. Dr. Benjamin Chavis, Jr. was the director of the march. The purpose of the march was to have a million sober and disciplined men promote unity.
