Today in Black History: October 14, 1964 “Dr. King Wins Nobel Peace Prize”

On today in 1964, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for his nonviolent resistance to racial prejudice in the United States of America. He was 35 years old, when he won the prize and was the youngest to ever win the Nobel Peace Prize. Dr. King also donated his prize money to the civil rights movement, which was valued at $54,600.
