Today in Black History: September 14, 1940 “Blacks are Allowed to Join Any Branch of the Military”

President Franklin D. Roosevelt, signed the Selective Service Act on September 14, 1940. One of the components of the Selective Service Act, allowed African Americans to enter all branches of the US Military Service.
