Today in Black History: September 2, 1975 “The First Black Supreme Court Justice”

Joseph W. Hatchett was appointed to the Florida Supreme Court by governor Reubin Askew, On September 2, 1975. Hatchett became the first Black Supreme Court Justice in the South.
