Today in Black History: August 12, 1990 “August Wilson Wins His 2nd Pulitzer Prize”

On today in 1990, August Wilson’s play The Piano Lesson won the Pulitzer Prize for drama. This was Wilson’s second time winning this award. He first won for his play Fences in 1987. The Piano lesson is about a brother and sister fighting over what to do with a piano that they inherited. The Piano Lesson was later turned into film and was aired on CBS on February 5, 1995.
