Today in Black History: July 19, 1941

On July 19, 1941, the first military aviation class for African Americans was held in Tuskegee, Alabama. The class consisted of 13 cadets. After 9 months of training, 5 of the 13 became the first black military pilots. We know these men as the historical Tuskegee Airmen.
