Muhammad Ali refuses induction into U.S. military

Today in 1971, The United States Supreme Court overturned the draft evasion conviction of Muhammad Ali. Ali was on trial because he refused to be drafted into the United States Army during the Vietnam war. The Supreme Court believed the government failed at specify why Ali’s application was denied and overturned his conviction.
